Nagkasundo sina Senate President Chiz Escudero at House Speaker Martin Romualdez at iba pang mambabatas ang pagpapaigting sa connectivity and cooperation ng dalawang kapulungan ng Kongreso para ipasa ang ang legislative agenda ng Marcos administration.
Ang makasaysayang pulong ng dalawang lider ng kapulungan na ginana sa Aguado residence sa Malacañang ay unang official house at senate leadership meeting.
Ayon kay Romualdez ang makasaysayang kaganapan ay nagmamarka ng isang makabuluhang hakbang sa pagpapaunlad ng higit na pagkakaisa at pagtutulungan sa pagitan ng Kongreso upang epektibong matugunan ang mga hamon na kinakaharap ng bansa at magtrabaho patungo sa isang mas maliwanag na kinabukasan para sa lahat ng Pilipino.
“This meeting symbolizes a renewed and reinvigorated partnership between the House of Representatives and the Senate under the leadership of Senate President Escudero,” sabi ni Romualdez na dinagdag ang mga nasabing pagpupulong ay pauna para sa Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC) meeting sa darating na Hunyo 25.
“Together, we are committed to working hand-in-hand to pass key legislation that will significantly benefit the Filipino people,” sabi pa ng lider ng Kamara.
Kabilang sa mga dumalo sa pulong ay sina Senate Majority Leader Francis “Tol” Tolentino, House Majority Leader Manuel Jose “Mannix” M. Dalipe, Senior Deputy Speaker Aurelio “Dong” Gonzales Jr., Deputy Speaker David “Jay-jay” Suarez, House Committee on Appropriations Chairman Zaldy Co, Presidential Legislative Liaison Office (PLLO) Sec. Mark Llandro “Dong” L. Mendoza, Undersecretary Adrian Carlos A. Bersamin of the Office of the Executive Secretary, House Secretary General Reginald “Reggie” Velasco, Deputy Secretary General Jennifer “Jef” Baquiran, Deputy Secretary General Robert David Amorin, Head Executive Assistant Director V Atty. Muel Romero, Senate Sec. Renato N. Bantug, Deputy Secretary Atty. Mavic Garcia, at Atty. Roland S. Tan, chief of staff ni Escudero.
Sa nasabing pulong, muling pinagtibay nina Romualdez at ni Escudero ang kanilang dedikasyon sa legislative agenda ni Pangulong Ferdinand ‘Bongbong” Marcos Jr., na prayoridad ang mapabuti ang buhay ng mga mamamayang Pilipino.
“Our joint efforts with the Senate reflect our collective resolve to push forward the President’s priority measures,” sabi ni Romuadez.
“With Senate President Escudero’s dynamic leadership, I am confident that we can expedite the legislative process, ensuring that the benefits reach our people without delay,” dagdag pa nito.
Binanggit ni Romualdez na ang pangunahing sentro ng pulong ay ang pag-amiyenda sa Rice Tariffication Law, na tinukoy bilang isang pangunahing prayoridad.
Ito ay naglalayong magbigay ng de-kalidad na abot-kayang bigas sa mga Pilipino at mapataas ang kita ng mga Pilipinong magsasaka.
