Iginiit ni Anakalusugan party list Rep. Mike Defensor sa Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (Philhealth) at mga pribadong ospital na agad na lutasin ng mga ito ang nangyayaring sigalot sa lalong madaling panahon.
Ayon sa kongresista, kailangang gawin ng Philhealth ang pagbabayad sa mga legitimate claims ng mga ospital subalit dapat ding mahigpit na bantayan ang mga kuwestiyunable at kaduda-dudang claims.
“This has been a recurring problem. The two sides should agree on a common solution that protects the interests of honest health facilities and medical practitioners, on one hand, and taxpayers and Philhealth members, on the other,” sabi ni Defensor.
Sinabi pa nito na dapat ding sisihin ang mga hindi tapat na ospital at doktor sa nangyayaring kapalpakan sa pagbabayad ng state insurer.
Ani Defensor, noong nakalipas na panahon ay may natuklasang mga fraudulent claims na isinumite ng ilang health facilities at mga doktor kung saan ilan sa mga ito ay sinampahan ng kaso ng Philhealth.
Nanindigan si Defensor na ang banta ng ilang ospital na kumalas sa Philhealth ay kabaligtaran sa isinasaad ng Universal Health Care Law.
“Health facilities are part of the universal health care program. If they separate themselves from Philhealth, they may not be able to serve poor patients who are covered by state insurance,” sabi nito.
Samantala, ayon pa kay Defensor, sa susunod na taon ay makakatanggap ng P80 bilyon ang PhilHealth na nakapaloob sa P5.024-2022 national budget na ipinasa ng Kongreso noong Disyembre 15.
“The money is for the insurance coverage of millions of so-called indirect contributors, including indigent citizens, the elderly and unemployed persons with disability,” sabi nito. “So the state health insurer will have more than P180 billion next year for health services for its members,” aniya pa.
