Mariing tinutulan ni Senate President Vicente Sotto III ang “No Vaccination, No Ride” policy na nais ipatupad ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) sa mga pampublikong sasakyan.
Ayon sa lider ng Senado, hindi katanggap-tanggap at isang discriminatory ang gustong mangyari ng DOTr sa mga hindi pa bakunadong indibiduwal.
Paliwanag pa ni Sotto sa mga executive officials na dapat ay naghahanap ng iba pang alternatibo para makumbinse pa ang mga hindi pa nagpapabakuna at hindi pagkaitan ang mga mahihirap .
“There should be no discrimination among the riding public. Instead of barring them from riding public transports, DOTr should come up with brighter ideas on how to protect the unvaxxed from the deadly virus. For example, in trains or in PUBs, designated coaches or buses should be designated for riders who have not been jabbed,” ani Sotto.
Dagdag pa nito na obligasyon ng pamahalaan na tulungan ang taumbayan na mabigyan ng bakuna laban sa COVID-19 virus at hindi pagkaitan ng tulong at panggigipit.
“There are many options, but to destabilize the means of transportation of our people should not be the only option. Think. Explore. There are plenty of other ways to fight the pandemic,” aniya pa.
