Pumasa na sa ad interim appointments ang mga opisyales ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) sa isinagawang pagdinig ng Senate Committee on National Defense.
Ayon kay Senador Ramon Bong Revilla Jr. marapat lamang na pasalamatan ang mga combat at non-combat missions ng mga miyembro ng Sandatahang Lakas ng Pilipinas.
Sa pagdinig ng Commission on Appointments (CA) sa Senate Committee on National Defense, ipinarating ni Revilla ang papuri sa mga tauhan ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) dahil sa serbisyo ng mga itong pangalagaan ang mga Filipino.
Suportado ni Revilla ang ad interim appointments ng 17 generals ng AFP sa pangunguna ni AFP chief of staff Gen. Andres Centino.
“We take note of your accomplishments and courage in the battlefield as we also recognize your equally-important achievements in non-combat missions, socio-economic and humanitarian efforts during peacetime. You’ve been instrumental in the timely rollout of the national vaccination program as well as in the speedy delivery of much-needed assistance for the typhoon victims. You’ve been the quiet and invincible force behind the success of many other government programs in pursuit of peace, unity and progress,” pahayag pa ni Revilla.
Sinabi naman ni Senador Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go na ipinapaalala nito sa mga AFP officials na ipagpatuloy ang pagsisilbi sa taumbayan at sa bansa lalo na sa gitna ng COVID-19 pandemic.
“Our country will forever be grateful to all of you for your unparalleled service to the Filipino people. For continuously ensuring our safety, especially during this time of the pandemic. Thank you for your dedicated service to our nation,” sabi ni Go.
Maliban kay Centino, kabilang din sa humarap sa pagdinig si Philippine Army Chief Lt. Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr., at Philippine Air Force Chief Lt. Gen. Connor Anthony Canlas.
Sa huli kinumpirma ng mga senador sa pamumuno ni Senate President Vicente Sotto III, ang chairman ng CA ang ad interim appointments ng mga nasabing opisyal ng AFP.
