Itinanggi ni Senate President Vicente Sotto III ang mga naglabasang ulat na tinanggal na sa senatorial slate ng Lacson-Sotto tandem sina Senador Richard Gordon at Jejomar Binay.
“I would like to set the record straight and clarify reports that Vice President Jejomar Binay and Senator Dick Gordon have been removed from the senatorial slate of the Lacson-Sotto tandem,” sabi pa ni Sotto.
Idinagdag pa nito na itinatakda pa lamang ng Lacson-Sotto tandem ang ieendorsong 11 senatorial candidates at hindi pa kasama dito sina Binay at Gordon.
“Sen. Ping Lacson and I are endorsing 11 senatorial candidates as of the moment at hindi pa kasama dito sina VP Binay at Sen. Gordon. Mag-uusap pa kami to complete our magic 12. So, to say that they are already removed from our line-up is totally wrong,” ani pa Sotto.
Sinabi pa nito na wala namang ineendorsong presidential at vice presidential candidate sina Binay at Gordon kung kaya’t walang dahilan para alisin ang mga ito sa kanilang senatorial lineup.
“Hindi sila committed sa kung sino ang president at vice president, di sila officially nagsasabi na ito ang aming presidente. As a matter of fact some of them even announced that they are supporting Sen. Lacson at myself,” paliwanag pa ni Sotto.
