Nabigo si Presidential candidate at Senador Panfilo Lacson na makuha ang endorsement ng mga opisyales ng lokal na pamahalaan ng lungsod Quezon sa campaign rally kasama si Senate President Vicente Sotto III.
Sa pangangampanya ng Lacson-Sotto Tandem sa Quezon City, tinabla ni QC Mayor Joy Belmonte at Vice Mayor Gian Sotto kasama ang iba pang opisyal ng lungsod si Lacson at tanging si Sotto lamang ang inendorso ng mga ito.
Tanging nasabi lamang ni Lacson ay lalapit na lamang ito sa mga residente ng QC para makakuha ng suporta sa kandidatura nito.
“Endorsements are good especially coming from credible local leaders like Mayor Joy Belmonte and Vice Mayor Gian Sotto. If it’s given, I would welcome it wholeheartedly. If not, then I wil have to go directly to the people of Quezon City. In past elections, at least in the 3 senatorial runs that I had, I got good numbers from Quezon City. I hope I can maintain that mandate and support from them,” tanging nasambit ni Lacson.
“Meantime, I’m truly happy for my vice presidential bet, SP Tito Sotto, a real pride of Quezon City who served faithfully and well as their vice mayor. He more than deserves the endorsement,” dagdag pa nito.
Nagpasalamat naman si Sotto sa endorsement ng lokal na pamahalaan sa kandidatura nito kung saan umaasa pa rin aniya ito na magbabago ng isip ang QC government officials na suportahan din si Lacson sa kandidatura nito.
“Most especially from QC because it’s one of the largest voting cities when it comes to voting population. And then malaking bagay sa akin kasi pakiramdam ko dito ako nagsimula. Dito nagsimula pulitika ko. Full endorsement of the entire leadership of QC is more than enough to boost my, to inspire me,” masayang pahayag ni Sotto.
Nabatid na si Sotto ay unanimous choice ng mga miyembro ng local party ng lungsod habang si Lacson ay hindi nakuha ang endorsement nito.
