Muling pinanindigan ni Davao City Mayor at vice presidential aspirant Sara Duterte na si Partido Federal ng Pilipinas standard bearer Ferdinand “Bongbong “ Marcos Jr. ang mananatiling presidente nito sa kabila ng maraming supporters nito ang nag-uugnay sa ibang kandidato sa pagkapangulo.
Sa inilabas na short video statement ni Duterte, muling pinagtibay nito ang kanyang desisyon na suportahan ang running-mate nitong si Marcos na pinasigla ng pangakong magsasanib ang Lakas-CMD at ang Hugpong ng Pagbabago.
“I intend to honor the commitment of my parties — the Lakas-CMD and Hugpong ng Pagbabago — that is to support Apo Bongbong Marcos as president,” sabi ni Duterte.
Inalala pa ng alkalde ang pagbuo ng UniTeam na produkto ng magkakaibang pananaw para sa lahat ng Filipino na magsisimula ng pagkakaisa upang palakasin ang bansa at isulong ang pangarap ng bawat Pinoy.
“When we agreed to form the UniTeam of Bongbong Marcos and Sara Duterte, we both agreed to run together with the singular purpose of improving the lives of the Filipinos and making the Philippines a stronger country,” ayon pa kay Duterte.
“Once again, let me reiterate that I am aware that many of you wish to see me with another presidential candidate. I take that as a sign of confidence in me as a leader. And for that, I am truly deeply touched and honored,” dagdag pa nito.
Nagbigay pugay rin si Duterte sa bawat organisasyon at indibidwual na walang pagod na ibinabahagi ang adhikain, pangako at pagpapahalaga na nagpapasigla sa kanya para magsumikap sa kanyang araw-araw na pangangampanya.
“We are barely half the journey, but I would have not reached this point in the campaign without the support of many local leaders, politicians, businessmen, people in non-government organizations and the academe, youth groups, women’s organizations, the Moro people, tribal leaders and their communities, members of the LGBT community, the ordinary citizens who trust in me and joined my cause,” giit nito.
Umaasa rin aniya ito sa mga tagasuporta at kaibigan na pagkatiwalaan ang UniTeam lineup sa paghahatid ng kanilang pangako at pagganap sa kanilang mandato na makatao, at may katuturang pamamahala.
“I continue to pray and call on all my friends to trust that the UniTeam will serve our country with fairness, love, honor, and dedication — the way patriots should,” sabi pa ng alkalde.
