Pagpapaliban sa Bgy. elections ipaprayoridad

Pinagtibay ng mga opisyales at miyembro ng PDP-Laban ang suporta ng mga ito kay House Majority Leader at Leyte 1st District Rep. Martin G. Romualdez bilang susunod na House Speaker sa 19th Congress.
Pinangunahan ni PDP Laban president at Energy Sec. Alfonso Cusi ang pagbibigay ng suporta kay Romualdez sa ginanap na pulong sa EDSA Shangri-La Hotel na inihanda ni San Jose del Monte City, Bulacan Rep. Rida Robes.
Nabatid na una nang ipinarating ng PDP-Laban kay Romualdez na suportado ng mga ito ang kanyang liderato sa Kamara at sa pinakahuling pagpupulong ng mga ito ay mas pinagtibay ang pangakong nasa likod ng nasabing partido ang kongresista ng Leyte.
Nagpasalamat naman si Romualdez sa PDP-Laban members.
“I would like to express my most sincere gratitude to my colleagues. Your gesture today will strengthen our efforts to unify the House and the people we all represent behind the incoming administration of presumptive President Bongbong Marcos,” ani Romualdez.
Sinabi ni Romualdez na sa susunod na Kongreso ay ipaprayoridad nito ang isinusulong ni presumptive President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. sa legislative agenda.
“More importantly, we are trying to ensure that the priority legislation of the incoming President, President-elect BBM will be aided and supported with measures that will allow him to pursue his agenda for the people,” sabi pa ni Romualdez.
Kabilang sa tinukoy nito na agad tatalakyin ng Kongreso ang pagpasa sa kahalintulad ng Bayanihan law na tatawaging Bayan Bangon Muli (BBM) at pagpapaliban sa barangay elections sa Disyembre upang makatipid ng P8 bilyon upang magamit sa paglaban sa pandemya.
“It was [presumptive] President Marcos’ initials, BBM or Bayan Bangon Muli bill stimulus package that will allow the incoming President to harness the resources available during the closing period of 2022 and [pass] measures that are needed for the pandemic, hopefully endemic stage of this COVID,” ayon pa kay Romualdez.
“Isa po sa hinaing (ang resetting of barangay polls) ng barangay chairpersons na na-met natin sa Liga ng mga Barangays, so we shall consider that,” dagdag pa nito.
Una nang nagpahayag ng suporta kay Romualdez sina Speaker Lord Allan Velasco at dating Pangulo at ngayo’y Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
“Our 62 newly elected PDP Laban representatives are throwing their full support behind Romualdez because we believe in his capacity to unite and lead Congress for the passage of significant laws and initiatives for the benefit of the Filipino people,” sa inilabas na kalatas ni Cusi.
Inhalimbawa pa ni Cusi na mahalagang batas na pinagunahan ni Romualdez ang pagpasa sa Bayanihan 1 and 2 at ang COVID-19 Vaccination Program Act; ang Corporate Recovery and Tax Incentives for Enterprises Act at pag-amiyenda sa Retail Trade Liberalization Act and the Public Service Act.
