Tinitiyak ni House Majority Leader at Leyte 1st District Rep. Martin G. Romualdez na palalakasin ang pagkakaisa ng mga miyembro ng Kamara bago ang inaasahang mabibigat ngunit mahalagang gawain sa pagpasok ng 19th Congress.
Ito ang sinabi Romualdez, na nangungunang maging susunod na House Speaker, sa gitna ng pagpupulong ng Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) sa EDSA Shangri-La Hotel sa Mandaluyong City kamakailan.
Tinalakay sa nasabing pagpupulong ang intensyon ng mga mambabatas na ganap na suportahan ang magiging legislative agenda ni presumptive President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
“Ito ang sinasabi nilang unity. Ito talaga ang mensahe ng UniTeam noong nangampanya sila at ito na nangyayari ngayon po sa House of Representatives. Nagkakaisa po ang House of Representatives behind [the] incoming administration at ito para sa kalusugan at kabuhayan ng lahat ng Pilipino,” ani Romualdez.
“So we are looking forward to working together, bonding together in helping [the] incoming administration and his spirit, his message, his reason for a united Philippines,” dagdag pa ng pangulo ng Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD).
Sinabi pa ni Romualdez na kabilang sa nais unahin ng Kamara na trabahuhin ang stimulus package na tutulong sa bansa tulad ng hamon ng COVID-19 pandemic ngayong taon at sa posibilidad na sa mahaba pang panahon.
Ang nasabing stimulus package ay tinawag na “Bayan Bangon Muli” bill o ang BBM bill.
“It will allow the incoming President to harness the resources available to him duing this closing period of 2022 and address the measures that are needed for the pandemic, hopefully endemic, stage of this COVID issue, and of course to harness whatever remaining resources to stimulate the economy and to reinvigorate it for the better[ment] of all,” paliwanag pa ni Romualdez.
Inaasahang magbubunga aniya ng maayos at napapanahon ang pagpasa sa BBM bill at iba pang kinakailangang hakbang dahil sa inaasahang pagsuporta ng mga kongresista at ni Romualdez.
“Well we’re looking for a united and a very, very strong 19th Congress. In unity there is strength that they say that means we will have a political will to do what is right by the Filipino people. We have to address the needs of all Filipinos and we will be the House of the People and that unity is something that we can be very proud.
When we are all happy working hard together, we can achieve everything that we need to do,” sabi pa ni Romualdez.
