Nasabat ng Bureau of Customs (BOC) ang nasa P4 milyong halaga ng smuggled na carrots sa Manila International Container Port (MICP).
Ayon sa BOC, kinumpiska ng mga tauhan ng Intelligence Group at ng MICP ang smuggled carrots na naka-consigned sa Silverpop Dry Goods Trading nang sumailalim sa physical examination noong Hunyo 14, 2022.
Nabatid na nagpalabas ang district collector ng MICP ng Alert Order laban sa 2×40′ containers na sinasabing naglalaman ng steamed buns base sa rekomendasyon ng Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (CIIS)-MICP Field Station.
Inihahanda na ang kaso laban sa may-ari ng nasabing kargamento dahil sa paglabag sa Section 117 o “Regulated Importation and Exportation” at Section 1400 o “Misdeclaration, Misclassification, Undervaluation in Goods Declaration”, in relation to Section 1113, at “Property Subject to Seizure and Forfeiture” ng Customs Modernization and Tariff Act.
