Masaya ang Cebu Pacific Air na naging katuwang ito ng mga doktor mula sa Metro Manila sa isinagawang eye surgical mission sa Borja Hospital sa Tagbilaran City.
Ayon kay Carmina Romero, Corporate Communications Director at Cebu Pacific, natutuwa ito at nakasama ng 19 doktor at mga nurses para magbigay ng libreng serbisyo ng Philippine Gift of Life.
Sinabi ni Fancy Baluyot, CEO ng Philippine Gift of Life na ang eye surgical mission ay nakapagtala ng 1,065 mahihirap na Boholanos na makakatanggap ng libreng eye surgery.
Sa nasabing ilang, 771 ay mga cataract patients, 252 pterygium, at 32 cyst cases.
Ayon kay Dr. Maryann Ruiz, ng Philippine Gift of Life na ang matagumpay na sumailalim sa screening at ocular biometry ang mga pasyente.
“The Philippine Gift of Life will forever be thankful to Cebu Pacific for making this surgical mission possibloe by bringing the 18 doctors and nurses from Manila,” ayon kay Dr. Ruiz.
Kabilang sa mga Manila volunteer doctors at nurses na sumama sa eye surgical mission sina Dr. Federico A. Malubay, Dr. Reynaldo V. Capuz, Dr. Paulo Faustino A. Camacho, Dr. Anthony Lim, Leri Rafiel L. Ramos, Teresita Eunice M. Saguid, Erica Joy D. David, Dianne Barit, Kateleen P. Bona, Jenny Rose R. Puente, Cathrine P. Jingco, Jenny Lyn E. Asia at si Ricky T. Marano.
“It is an honor to be a part of this medical mission. We want to help improve the lives of the communities we operate in and be there for them when the people need our assistance,” sabi naman ni Romero.
Ayon pa sa Cebu Pacific, 7 beses kada araw kung lumipad ang eroplano nito mula Manila hanggang Bohol, at tatlong beses naman mula Davao hanggang Bohol.
