Kakailanganin ng supplemental budget para sa pagpapatuloy ng Libreng Sakay sa EDSA Carousel bus service contracting para makatulong sa lahat ng pashero partikular ang ma estudyante.
Ito ang sinabi ni Quezon Rep. Reynan Arrogancia kung saan ihahain aniya nito ang panukalang batas para maipagpatuloy ang nasabing libreng sakay hanggang sa Disyembre 2022.
“I thank President Marcos and DOTr Secretary Bautista for extending the Libreng Sakay on the EDSA Carousel bus service contracting for all passengers and the free rail rides only for students. But to keep and expand Libreng Sakay on light rail and rail, I must file a supplemental bill to allocate available revenues to sustain Libreng Sakay on MRT-3, LRT-2, and PNR until December 31,” paliwanag nito.
“My supplemental bill will eye the incremental revenues from the fuel excise tax and other TRAIN Law taxes,” dagdag pa nito.
Aniya, kung nais ng pamahalaan na maibsan ang paghihirap ng mga pasahero dahil sa patuloy na pagtaas ng presyo ng produktong petrolyo at mga pangunahing bilihin ay dapat na ipagpatuloy ng pamahalaan ang pagtulong sa mga Filipino.
“Kung nais po nating maibsan ang paghihirap ng mga pasahero sanhi ng pagtaas ng presyo ng mga bilihin, pamasahe, at gasolina, lubus-lubusin na po natin. I-expand natin ang Libreng Sakay via service contracting hindi lang sa EDSA kundi sa iba pang mga ruta; libreng train rides, hindi lang para sa mga estudyante mula August 22, 2022 hanggang November 4, 2022, kundi para sa LAHAT na ng pasahero sagad hanggang 31 December 2022. Isagad na po natin. Kaya nga po, kailangan nitong supplemental budget para matustusan ‘yan,” pahayag pa ni Arrogancia.
“If the reasoning for excluding non-students from rail and light rail Libreng Sakay is the recent rounds of minimum wage hikes, my response is: that only catches up with some of the elevated inflation and would not be enough for PUJ and tricycle fare hikes,’ giit nito.
