Inaasahang mas paghuhusayin pa ng mga siyentipiko ng Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) ang trabaho ng mga ito dahil sa isinasaayos na ng Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) ang makabago at malaking gusali nito na itatayo sa Science Garden Complex, Diliman, Quezon City.
Ayon sa ulat ng DPWH Unified Project Management Office – Buildings Management Cluster kay DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, ang 6-palapag ng gusaling proyekto ay may lawak na 8,608 square meters at sa kasalukuyan ay 38 porsiyentong tapos.
Nabatid na ang nasabing gusali ay mas ligtas at may modernong opisina na magagamit ng mga tauhan ng PAGASA.
“This new PAG-ASA building will be able to provide a conducive office facility for our scientists, which they deserve considering their significant role for the protection of life and property,” sabi ni Bonoan.
Sa sandaling makumpleto ang proyekto, magkakaroon ito ng auditorium at karagdagang silid na magagamit ng mga tauhan ng official weather bureau.
Ang nasabing proyekto na may kabuuang pondong P269 milyon ay mayroong reinforced concrete foundation at building frame mula sa ground floor hanggang sa anim na palapag na may roof deck, dry wall, masonry walls, architectural at water proofing works, curtain wall façade, mechanical works, plumbing and sanitary works, drainage system, at electronic works.
