Isinalarawan ni House Speaker Martin G. Romualdez na matagumpay ang idinaos na state visits ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. sa bansang Indonesia at Singapore na nagresulta ng mahigit sa $15 bilyong halaga ng investment pledges para sa bansa.
“I congratulate the President and all Cabinet Members who joined his official delegation for a job well done. The four-day trip turned out to be highly successful and very productive not only in strengthening our bilateral ties with our neighbor-countries but also in attracting much-needed investments for our people,” sabi ni Romualdez.
Aniya, sa Singapore pa lamang ay marami nang local business leaders na nakipagpulong sa Pangulo at nangako na mag-i-invest ng kabuuang USD 6.54 bilyong halaga nng foreign direct investments sa Pilipinas.
Sinabi pa ni Romualdez na tumataginting na P374.57 bilyon ang nakuha ni Pangulong Marcos sa Singapore na inaasahang magreresulta ng trabaho para sa 15,000 manggagawang Pinoy.
Nabatid na ang mga Singaporean business leaders na lumagda sa Letters of Intent para magnegosyo sa Pilipinas sa Singapore Business Round Table Meeting na ginawa noong Setyembre 7 tulad ng Renewable Energy (floating solar) na nasa USD 1.2 billion; Blue Economy (Marine renewable energy, water production, desalination, electric boats, aquaculture) na nasaUSD 10 hanggang 100 million; Innovation Platform for Startups na nasa USD 20 million; Women in Tech na USD 20 million; Data Center na USD 200 million at Transportation (electronic tricycles) na nasa USD 5 billion.
“These investments mean thousands of new jobs for Filipinos here. Singapore officials also assured the Filipino delegation that their country is ready to roll out close to 10,000 new job orders for Filipino workers in Singapore,” ani Romualdez.
Samantala, sa Indonesia, umaabot sa $8.48 bilyong halaga ng investment pledges at coal and fertilizer supply ang ipinangako ng mga local business leaders.
Kasama rin dito ang USD 822 milyon na investments sa textiles, garments, renewable energy, satellite gateway, wire global technology, and agri-food; USD 7 bilyon sa infrastructure for unsolicited private-public partnerships tulad ng C-5 4-level elevated expressway; USD 662 milyon sa trade value para sa supply ng coal at fertilizer.
Ang investments aniya na nakuha ng Pangulo sa Indonesia ay inaasahang magreresulta ng bagong trabaho na nasa 7,000.
“Overall, it’s been a highly successful, very fruitful trip. Aside from the investment pledges, there have been several mutually beneficial agreements on bilateral economic, defense, cultural, and labor and employment cooperation with the host countries,” sabi ni Romualdez.
“Thanks to the President, the Philippines is back on the map for investments and may soon fulfill its goal as Asia’s fastest rising star,” dagdag pa nito.
