Pagpapalakas ng relasyon ng PHL at US suportado ng Kongreso — Speaker Romualdez

Ipinangako ni Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez na ang Kongreso, partikular ang Mababang Kapulungan ng Kongreso ay patuloy na tutulong sa administrasyong Marcos na bumuo ng mas matatag na ugnayan sa pagitan ng Pilipinas at Estados Unidos.

Ginawa ni Romualdez ang pangako sa isang talumpati sa John F. Kennedy School of Government ng Harvard University sa harap ng mga opisyal ng unibersidad, mga miyembro ng faculty at mga mag-aaral sa Boston, Massachusetts tungkol sa kinabukasan ng alyansa ng Pilipinas at Estados Unidos na pinangasiwaan ni G. Eric Rosenbach, Co-Director ng Belfer Center for Science at and International Affairs.

“The PH-US relations are strong. The military alliance is iron-clad. Our economic relations are robust. And the friendship between our two peoples is solid,” sabi ni Romualdez sa kanyang policy speech sa Harvard community sa imbitasyon ng Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs na sinundan ng question and answer sa Harvard community.

Sinabi ng lider ng Kamara na ang lehislatura ay patuloy na kumakatawan sa mamamayang Pilipino sa ilalim ng pamumuno ni Pangulong Marcos Jr., bilang punong arkitekto ng patakarang panlabas ng Pilipinas.

“And it is along these lines that we will continue to craft nationalvlegislation to serve our peoples and promote the national interests of our country,” sabi nito.

“Remember, however, that PH-US relations continue to be an unfinished project. Our task is to build upon the strong foundations of the pastbin order to achieve a common future of shared objectives and mutual prosperity. I hope that all of you here today realize that we can all be important partners in this regard,” ani Romualdez.

“May we all continue to make our small contributions to strengthen the friendship between our two peoples. May our work enhance the relations between the Philippines and the United States. May we draw the bilateral ties of our two countries even much closer,” dagdag nito.

Sinabi rin nito na oras na rin para sa mga negosyante ng US sa at iba pang dayuhang kumpanya na mamuhunan sa Pilipinas dahil sa paglago ng ekonomiya ng bansa.

“The Philippine Congress, through its mandate, lays out the legal framework wherein the Philippines and the United States can prove time and again that the partnership continues to evolve and be more responsive to promote the interests of their respective peoples,” sa pahayag pa ni Romualdez sa mga Harvard audience.
