Iniulat ng Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) na minamadali na nitong maayos at tapusin ang konstruksyon sa apat na palapag na Open University System Building sa Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) Mabini Campus sa Sta. Mesa, Manila.
Sa ulat na ipinadala ni DPWH National Capital Region (NCR) Director Loreta M. Malaluan kay Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, ang civil works sa bagong PUP building ay 50 porsiyento nang tapos.
May alokasyon na P50 milyon, ang PUP Open University System Building ay magkakaloob ng mas maayos na learning facilities para sa mga estudyante ng nasabing paaralan.
Ang PUP Open University System ay magkakaloob din ng oportunidad sa mga mag-aaral, out-of-school youth, mga guro, administrators, managers, professionals, at mga ordinaryong manggagawa para ipursige ang kanilang degree programs at non-degree courses sa mababang tuition at flexible schedule.
“As the institution caters more and more students every year, the demand for better facilities has been prioritized by the PUP management. We hope that with this building, we will be able to add a much-needed modern and fully-equipped school facility,” sabi ni Malaluan.
“Designed to provide the university with a more conducive environment, the project will help promote the expansion and development of academic and social learning for PUP graduate students,” dagdag nito.
