Iniulat ng Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) na umabot na sa 26 tauhan nito ang sinibak sa trabaho at dalawa pa ang sinuspende dahil sa iba’t ibang kasong kinasasangkutan ng mga ito.
Ayon kay BIR Commissioner Romeo Lumagui Jr., mga kasong may kinalaman sa grave misconduct, serious dishonesty, frequent unauthorized absences, falsification of official documents, gross neglect of duty, insubordination at absence without official leave (AWOL) ang dahilan ng pagsibak at pagsususpende sa mga empleyado ng ahensya.
“As we transform the BIR into an institution of integrity and excellence, we have removed 26 and suspended two erring employees. Keep in mind that you have no business working for the BIR if you fail to meet our standards for integrity and professionalism,” sa kalatas na inilabas ni Lumagui.
Nagbanta pa si Lumagui na gagawin nitong regular ang imbestigasyon sa mga opisyal at tauhan ng BIR kung saan sa sandaling mapatunayan na sapat ang ebidensya laban dito ay agad na sisibakin at sususpendehin sa trabaho.
“We are committed to provide a new BIR to the public. One that has integrity and professionalism,” ayon pa dito.
