Pinuri ni Senate Minority Leader Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III sina Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. at United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan sa desisyon ng huli na bigyan ng pardon ang tatlong Pinoy na nahatulan ng parusang kamatayan sa UAE.
Sinabi ni Pimentel na ang “act of compassion and mercy” na ito sa tatlong Filipino, na dalawa sa kanila ay nahaharap sa death row, ay isang patunay na pagkakaibigan at pagtutulungan ng Pilipinas at UAE.
“I congratulate President Marcos and thank the UAE government for this good news. I am sure that this significant development will further strengthen the bond between our country and the UAE,” sabi nito.
“President Marcos has shown his resolve and unwavering dedication to help our kababayans and ensure a just resolution for the convicted Filipinos abroad,” dagdag pa ni Pimentel
“The Marcos government’s strong diplomatic relations and effective communication have made the undertaking a huge success. His efforts have brought immense relief to the families of the convicted Filipinos,” aniya pa.
Ipinaabot din ni Pimentel ang kanyang pasasalamat kay UAE Ambassador to the Philippines Mohamed Obaid Salem Alqataam Alzaabi sa paghahatid ng magandang balita.
“The ambassador’s role in facilitating communication between the two nations has played a crucial part in ensuring the successful outcome of this humanitarian endeavor,” ayon pa kay Pimentel.
Samantala, inulit ni Pimentel ang kanyang pasasalamat sa gobyerno ng UAE sa kanilang bukas-palad na tulong at donasyon bilang suporta sa mga pamilyang naapektuhan ng pag-aalboroto ng Bulkang Mayon sa Albay.
Kamakailan ay nag-donate ang UAE ng 50 toneladang relief at food supplies para sa mga pamilyang inilikas dahil sa patuloy na epekto ng bulkang Mayon.
