Paghimay sa 2024 national budget tiniyak ng House appropriations chair

Tiniyak ng liderato ng Kamara na masusing hihimayin ng Kongreso ang nilalaman ng P5.768 trillion 2024 national budget mula sa Department of Budget and Management (DBM) at executive department.

Ito ang sinabi ni Ako Bicol party-list Rep. Elizaldy Co, chairman ng House Committee on Appropriations kung saan ipinangako nitong mahigpit ang gagawing paghimay sa 2024 National Expenditures Program (NEP).

Nangako rin ito na gagawin ang mabilis na pagpasa sa national spending plan dahil target ng Kamara na aprubahan ito bago magpahinga ang Kongreso sa Oktubre.

“The Appropriations Panel is ready to diligently review every aspect of the budget proposal. The committee members understand the weight of their responsibility and are fully devoted to the task at hand,” sabi ni Co.

Idinagdag pa ng kongresista ang isang transparent at epektibong proseso ng badyet para sa ikabubuti ng bansa at ng mamamayang Pilipino.

“Being entrusted with the oversight of the nation’s budget is a privilege and a solemn duty. We recognize the significance of this responsibility bestowed upon us by the people,” ani Co.

“It is our duty to earnestly review and thoroughly understand every budget proposal to ensure that it addresses the pressing needs of our people,” dagdag pa nito.

Ayon pa kay Co, ang Kamara sa ilalim ng pamumuno ni Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez ay naglalayon na magbigay ng kinakailangang suportang pinansyal sa 8-Point Socioeconomic Agenda ng administrasyong Marcos Jr. at umayon sa mga layunin ng Philippine Development Plan 2023-2028.

Nakatakdang simulan ng House Committee on Appropriations ang briefing sa Development Budget Coordination Committee (DBCC) sa panukalang 2024 national budget sa Agosto 10 habang tinitingnan ang mga debate sa plenaryo simula Setyembre 18.

Target ng Kamara na maihatid ang 2024 General Appropriations Bill sa Senado sa huling linggo ng buwan ng Setyembre.
