Pinarangalan ng Mababang Kapulungan ng Kongreso ang isang Filipino church choral group na nagwagi sa 2023 Choir of the World title sa Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod.
Ang House Resolution No. 1191 ay pinagtibay ng 312 na miyembro ng Kamara naglalayong bigyan ng pagkilala ang mga miyembro ng Kammercor Manila.
Sinabi ni Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez, isa sa mga may-akda ng panukala, na ang mga Pilipino ay kilala sa buong mundo para sa kanilang husay sa pag-awit at hilig na maging mahusay sa malikhaing sining.
“Kahit hindi na ito nakakagulat, lagi ko pa ring ikinatutuwa na malaman ang ganitong tagumpay ng ating mga kababayan sa larangan ng pagkanta. Filipino talent speaks for itself though awards like these,” sabi ni Romualdez.
Nabatid na ang Kammerchor Manila ay kinilala bilang 2023 Choir of the World sa Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod na ginanap sa Wales, United Kingdom noong nakalipas na Hulyo 8.
Ayon sa resolusyon, nanalo ang grupo ng dalawa pang prestihiyosong parangal sa kanilang paglahok sa United Kingdom – European Tour 2023.
Ito ang kanilang Absolute Winner finish sa 69th Certamen Internacional de Habaneras y Polifonia, at ang 3rd Prize-Grand Prix sa 60th Seghizzi International Choral Singing Competition.
Ang Kammerchor Manila ay Isang non-profit choral organization na ikinokonsidera bilang premier church choirs sa bansa.
Nabuo ito at inilunsad noong 1992 sa Quezon City ng award-winning musician at professor Fidel Calalang Jr.
“A three-time recipient of the ‘Ani ng Dangal Award’ in 2016, 2019, and 2022 from the Philippine National Commission for Culture and the Arts, the choir continues to build upon its legacy of success at international choral competitions, and delivers performances that span a diverse range of musical genres, from madrigals to contemporary music, and from sacred to pop music which, coupled with their commitment to excellence in music, friendship, and service to God, has inspired many other choirs and elevated the level of choral music,” nakasaad sa resolusyon.
Ang choral group ay binubuo nina musical director Anthony Go Villanueva, soprano leader Queenie Adon, at sopranos Sheryl Lagundino, Diana Cadahing, Maybelle Baldorado, Caren Mongcopa, Krystl Buesa, Lakasdiwa Paguia, Ericka Patawaran, Patricia Patnugot, Jaymitch Ferolino, at Jamille Logmao; alto leader Mae Robles at altos Diane Tuason, Janine De Belen, Lory Esperancilla, Roxanne San Jose, Eloisa Contreras, at Janine Lomentigar; tenor leader Jerome Silvestre at tenors Arvin Garcia, Feb Elvira, Kevin Yu, Marlo Del Rosario, Renz Marcial, John Paul Guanzon, at Renz Apostol; at bass leader Chian Ilagan at bass members Jasper Sueña, Darwin Lomentigar, Chris Ibañez, Junico Herrera, Cris Magana, Joel Nalda, Aerich Balanggao, at Reniel Czar Nobleta.
