Opisyal ng oil companies ipatatawag sa Kamara

Sa gitna ng tuluy-tuloy na pagtaas ng presyo ng petrolyo

Dahil sa sunud-sunod na pagtaas ng presyo ng produktong petrolyo ay pinag-aaralan ni Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez na imbitahan ang mga opisyal ng mga kumpanya ng langis upang maibsan ang paghihirap ng mga motorista.

We all know that once the prices of oil rise, everything else shoots up – except the wages and salaries of our workers,” pahayag nito.

Ayon kay Romualdez, lider ng 311 miyembro ng Kamara at pangulo ng Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD), ang mataas na presyo ng produktong petrolyo ay itinutulak ng pagtaas nito sa pandaigdigang pamilihan.

Tali rin umano ang kamay ng gobyerno dahil sa Oil Deregulation Law.

Ngunit ipinunto ni Romualdez na ang ibinebenta ng mga kumpanya ng langis ngayon sa bansa ay hindi pa ang kanilang nabili sa mataas na presyo.

“It is common knowledge that oil companies still sell supplies bought at lower prices before the costs of crude oil in the world market increased. Baka pwede nating mapakiusapan sila na wag na munang magtaas ng presyo,” sabi ni Romualdez.

“This is one of our problems, the Oil Deregulation Law that contributed to the high prices of petroleum. It ties our hands. We don’t want to impose on them (oil firms), but we also want to know if they can help alleviate our suffering,” sabi pa ni Romualdez.

“We want to hear from them what can they do to help in this kind of situation, and if indeed they are willing to help at all because these oil price hikes have been a burden to our kababayans,” sabi pa ng lider ng Kamara.

Binigyan-diin ni Romualdez ang kahalagahan na maibsan ang mabigat na pasanin ng publiko.

“I think it would be better if we help each other soften the impact of these oil price increases because we want these products to be affordable. People have been bearing the brunt of this situation for a long time now,” dagdag pa ni Romualdez.

Sisilipin umano ng Kamara ang mga nakabinbing panukala na naglalayong amiyendahan ang Oil Deregulation Law upang malaman kung ano ang mga hakbang na maaaring gawin upang mapababa ang presyo ng produktong petrolyo.
