Hinimok ni Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez ang Department of Health (DoH) at mga local government units (LGUs) na tulungan ang mga taong apektado ng aktibidades ng bulkang Taal na naglabas ng smog o vog.
“We have to assist residents of areas around Taal Volcano like Batangas, Cavite, Laguna, and even Metro Manila cope with this temporary problem,” aniya.
Sinabi pa ng lider ng Kamara na dapat na matulungan ang DoH at LGUs para agad na makapagpakalat ng N95 face masks at iba pang protective gadgets sa mga apektadong residente.
Idinagdag pa ni Romualdez na ipinarating ni Deputy Majority Leader Erwin Tulfo na ang DoH ay may sapat na supply ng N95 face masks na binili noong panahon ng Covid-19 pandemic.
“We have to protect affected residents from volcanic dusts and gases, and from possible respiratory ailments,” sa panawagan ni Romualdez sa DoH sa pamamagitan ni Ako Bicol party list Rep. Zaldy Co, chairman ng House Committee on Appropriations.
Iminungkahi ni Romualdez na kung walang face mask, ang mga residente ay maaaring gumamit ng tela.
“If they have available drugs for these ailments, they should already preposition them in places where they would be needed,” dagdag pa nito.
Noong Huwebes, iniulat na apektado ng Taal Volcano’s emissions ay kumalat sa Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, at Metro Manila dahilan upang isuspende ang pasok sa pag-aralan.
