“As Chairperson of the House Committee on the Welfare of Children, I ask the Philippine National Police to thoroughly and properly investigate the death of the Grade 7 student at the Rizal Technological University campus,” sabi ni Co.

Sinabi pa nito na titiyakin nitong mabibigyan ng DSWD Assistance of Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) ang pamilya ng naturang mag-aaral.

“I will make sure that the family of the Grade 7 student will also be given DSWD Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS). I note that in the months since resumption of on-campus in-person classes, there have been other deaths of on-campus deaths of students in other schools, so I expect the DSWD officials in Mandaluyong City and other localities to formally inform me of the status and findings on those cases,” sabi pa ng kongresista.

“I also ask the Commission on Higher Education to ascertain administrative liability and make sure the necessary social welfare interventions are done for the bereaved family and schoolmates. For now, frequent updates by the authorities to the general public and to my office would suffice. I expect to be kept informed of this case by the PNP and CHED until its satisfactory resolution,” dagdag pa nito.
