Nanawagan si Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez ngayong Linggo ng isang maayos at mapayapang pagsasagawa ng Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections sa darating na araw ng Lunes.
Kasabay nito, hinimok ni Romualdez ang lahat ng kandidato na huwag gumamit ng dahas at yakapin ang tunay na espiritu ng demokrasya.
Binigyan-diin ng lider ng Kamara, na mayroong mahigit 300 kinatawan, ang kahalagahan na mapanatilihing ligtas ang proseso ng halalan para sa kapakinabangan ng lahat ng komunidad.
“Our barangays serve as the foundation of our nation’s governance. It is crucial that these elections take place in an atmosphere of tranquility and respect for the rule of law,” ani Romualdez.
“We implore all candidates and their supporters to act with civility, restraint, and respect for one another. The true strength of our democracy lies in our ability to peacefully choose our local leaders,” giit pa nito.
Ayon sa lider ng Kamara, ang ligtas na proseso ng halalan ay mahalaga upang mapangalagaan ang karapatan ng mga mamamayan.
Sinabi rin ni Romualdez na ang lahat ng botante ay dapat magkaroon ng oportunidad na makaboto nang walang pangamba o kinatatakutan.
“The security of the electoral process is essential to prevent any undue influence, manipulation, or discrimination,” sabi pa nito.
“When voters can cast their ballots without fear of intimidation or violence, it upholds the very essence of democracy – the idea that every citizen’s voice is valued and every vote is equal. This level playing field is the cornerstone of a just and representative democracy,” dagdag pa ni Speaker Romualdez.
