PDP-Laban nalalagas matapos siraan ni Duterte ang Kamara — solon

Unti-unting nalalagas ang mga miyembro ng Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) matapos na tawagin ng chairman nito na si dating Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte ang Kamara de Representantes na pinakabulok na institusyon sa bansa.

At ayon sa stalwart ng PDP-Laban na si Surigao del Sur Rep. Johnny Pimentel maaaring apat o lima na lamang ang matirang miyembro nito sa Mababang Kapulungan ng Kongreso.

Sa panayam, sinabi ni Pimentel na 15 na lamang ang nalalabing miyembro ng PDP-Laban sa Kamara sa kasalukuyan at inaasahan na mababawasan pa ito sa mga darating na araw.

Nang magsimula ang 19th Congress, sinabi ni Pimentel na 65 ang mga miyembro ng PDP-Laban.

Nang tanungin kung bakit umaalis ang mga miyembro sinabi ni Pimentel na konektado ito sa paninira ni Duterte sa Kamara kamakailan.

“Well probably, you already know what happened, it started when there were some accusations against Congress na sinabi nga ng former President natin na bulok tayong institution so the congressmen took it upon themselves also to defend the dignity of the institution. Now, I believe, it could also be one of the main reasons why they decided to transfer to other political parties because they couldn’t anymore reconcile their mandate, their duties, and functions as members of the House to their duties and functions as members of PDP-Laban,” sabi ni Pimentel.

“We already know that Congress is a collegial body and there is a leadership that manages or supervises the affairs of Congress. So therefore we, as members of Congress, should also be aligned or attuned to the direction of the leadership,” saad pa ni Pimentel.

“But it seems that the direction of PDP Laban is going to another direction so probably, the other members deemed it prudent to transfer to other parties because we can’t serve two masters,” dagdag pa nito.

Inamin din ni Pimentel na maging ito ay naninimbang na kung mananatili o lilipat na ng partido.

“Well, I’m still waiting for developments but I’m already weighing my options. Most probably, I’m also transferring to another party,” saad pa ni Pimentel.

Noong administrasyong Duterte, sinabi ni Pimentel na nasa 120 ang bilang ng mga kongresista na miyembro ng PDP-Laban.

Kamakailan ay pitong miyembro ng PDP-Laban ang nanumpa bilang mga miyembro ng Lakas-CMD.

Ito ay sina Senior Deputy Speaker Aurelio “Dong” D. Gonzales Jr. ng Pampanga at Reps. Carmelo “Jon” B. Lazatin II ng Pampanga, Zaldy S. Villa ng Siquijor, Edwin L. Olivares ng Parañaque City, Antonino G. Calixto ng Pasay City, Glona G. Labadlabad ng Zamboanga del Norte, at Eduardo Roa Rama Jr. ng Cebu.
