Nakumpleto na ng Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) ang paglalagay ng slope protection structure kasama ang road widening sa kahabaan ng Sapang Matwa Creek sa Lubao, Pampanga.
Ayon sa DPWH, ang proyekto ay magpapabuti para maging ligtas at madali ang transportasyon ng mga motorista at residente sa Sitio Dampalit sa Barangay Sta. Monica, Lubao, Pampanga.
Ang P17.8M proyekto ay kinapapalooban ng konstruksyon ng 153.88-meter concrete slope protection gamit ang structural steel sheet piles, concrete pile caps, wheel guards, at portland cement concrete pavement.
Sa kanyang ulat kay Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan at Regional Office 3 Director Roseller A. Tolentino, sinabi ni DPWH Pampanga 2nd District Engineer Gregorio Audea, Jr. na ang pagkumpleto ng proyekto ay magbibigay ng proteksyon sa mga komunidad malapit sa sapa laban sa pagbaha at mapadali ang mas maayos na paggalaw ng mga tao, kalakal, at serbisyo sa Lubao.
“The safety upgrades are specifically designed to protect motorists from potential accidents near the creek and will benefit road users,” ayon kay Audea.
Ang katatapos lang na slope protection structure sa Barangay Sta. Monica ay iinondohan sa ilalim ng 2023 General Appropriations Act (GAA) ng 2023.
