Iniulat ng Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) na umaabot sa 806 job seekers ang hired-on-the-spot sa tatlong araw na job fairs kasabay ng ika-90 taong anibesrayo ng ahensya.
Ayon sa DOLE, ang nasabing bilang ay kabilang sa 6,138 job seekers na dumagsa sa 14 job fair sites sa National Capital Region (NCR), Cordillera Administrative Region, Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Davao Region, at Caraga noong Disyembre 1, 2, at 4.
Sinabi ni Labor Secretary Bienvenido E. Laguesma na mahalagang papel ang naging tulong ng mga local government units (LGUs) at ng kani kanilang Public Employment Service Offices (POSO) sa pagbibigay ng trabaho sa kanilang nasasakupan.
Samantala, 440 aplikante ang inilipat sa Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) para sumailalim ng pagsasanay, 290 ang inilagay sa Bureau of Workers with Special Concerns para sa livelihood assistance, at 167 ang dinala sa Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) para sa entrepreneurship development.
Kabuuang 2,056 job seekers ang nakatanggap din ng government services tulad ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Social Security System (SSS), Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhiHealth), Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) at Pag-IBIG Fund.
Muling pinaalala ng DOLE na mayroon pang nakalinyang job fairs sa mga susunod na araw kabilang na sa National Capital Region – Malabon Sports Complex, Malabon City ngayong araw, Disyembre 6 at sa Vista Mall, Taguig City; sa Barangay Hall, Barangay Poblacion, Pateros sa Disyembre 7; at sa Barangay Sta. Ana, Pateros (December 7).
Habang sa Ilocos Region sa Pangasinan Provincial Capitol, Lingayen ay sa Disyembre 7 at sa Western Visayas sa SM City Iloilo, Iloilo City ay Disyembre 7 din.
Ngayong araw ay may job fair din sa Central Visayas sa Poblacion, Madridejos, Cebu at sa SM Seaside, Cebu City sa Disyembre 8. Samantala, sa SOCCSKSARGEN ay sa Notre Dame of Marbel University sa Disyembre 14.
