Natapos na ng Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) ang pagtatayo ng isang riverwall structure na ngayon ay magbibigay ng proteksyon sa isang barangay sa Gattaran, Cagayan.
Sa ulat kay DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, iniulat ng DPWH Cagayan First District Engineering Office na ang bagong natapos ang 170-meter-long concrete revetment with hexapod sa Barangay Casicallan.
“The flood-control project along Cagayan River is a robust defense against strong currents and high-water levels that safeguards nearby community from flooding,” sabi ni District Engineer Oscar G. Gumiran.
Sinabi ni Gumiran na ang natapos na flood-control structure, na pinondohan sa ilalim ng 2023 General Appropriations Act (GAA), ay natapos sa halagang P50 milyon.
“The successful completion of the Casicallan Flood Control Project underscores the government’s dedication to protecting the community and helping improve its residents’ lives,” sabi nito.
