Ipinag-utos ni Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan sa lahat ng regional at district engineering offices sa buong bansa na magsagawa ng highway routine maintenance activities upang matiyak ang walang patid na daloy ng trapiko sa mga pangunahing kalsada sa darating na Semana Santa.
“In anticipation of the heavy flow of traffic this long weekend, implementing offices were instructed to ensure the provision of informative/regulatory warning signs or traffic advisory along ongoing road projects,” sabi ni Bonoan.
“They shall likewise make sure that appropriate warning, directional, and information signages are legibly and visibly installed especially along critical sections leading to churches, for the safety of those who will go for Visita Iglesia,” dagdag nito.
Dagdag pa rito, muling inilunsad ng DPWH ang programng ‘Lakbay Alalay’ upang magbigay ng agarang tulong sa mga motorista at commuters.
Ilalagay ang Motorist Assistance Teams sa mga strategic national road at i-mobilized simula Marso 28, 2024 hanggang Marso 29, 2024, mula alas-8:00 ng umaga hanggang alas-5:00 ng hapon.
Maaaring lapitan ng publiko ang ‘Lakbay Alalay’ teams na nasa standard navy blue-colored tents sa mga estratehikong bahagi ng mga national road.
Binubuo ito ng mga DPWH uniformed field at crew personnel na may nakaantabay na maintenance equipment.
