Imbestigasyon sa POGO iniutos ni Speaker Romualdez

Iniutos ni Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez ng komprehensibong imbestigasyon laban sa Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs) dahil sa nakakaalarmang ulat na talamak ang criminal activities dito.

Ang hakbang na ito, ani Romualdez, ay binibigyan-diin ang pangako ng gobyerno sa pagsugpo sa mga iligal na aktibidad at pagtiyak na ang mga umiiral na regulasyon ay epektibong naipatutupad.

Ipinahayag ng pinuno ng Kamara ang kanyang matinding pagkabahala sa pananatili ng illegal POGO, na patuloy ang operasyon sa kabila ng mahigpit na mga regulasyon.

“We cannot allow these rogue POGO operators to persist in their illicit actions. It is imperative that we identify and unmask the masterminds and protectors behind these operations so they can be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” ayon pa dito.

Ang imbestigasyon ng Kongreso, ayon kay Romualdez ay naglalayon na masusing suriin ang iba’t ibang criminal activities kabilang ang money laundering, human trafficking at iba pang kaugnay na mga paglabag na sinasabing ginawa ng mga illegitimate POGO.

Aniya, susuriin nito ang bisa ng kasalukuyang mga regulasyon at tutukuyin ang anumang mga puwang na nagpapahintulot sa mga operator na ito na umiwas sa batas.

“Establishing the identities of those responsible for protecting and facilitating these illegal operations and ensuring they are held accountable is a priority. Ensuring the protection of local communities and individuals affected by the illegal activities of rogue POGO operators is crucial,” giit nito.

Binigyan-diin nito ang kahalagahan ng pagsisiyasat ng Kongreso sa pagpapanatili ng integridad ng batas at regulasyon ng bansa.

“This is not just about enforcing the law; it’s about safeguarding our nation’s economic stability and protecting our citizens from the harmful effects of criminal enterprises,” sabi pa ng lider ng Kamara.

Tiniyak ni Romualdez sa publiko na ang mga natuklasan ng imbestigasyong ito ay hahantong sa mahigpit na mga hakbang at reporma na naglalayong puksain ang mga ilegal na operasyon ng POGO sa Pilipinas.

“We owe it to our citizens to ensure that the rule of law prevails and that criminal elements exploiting our system are brought to justice,” ani Romualdez.

“This investigation is a crucial step towards restoring order and reinforcing the public’s trust in our institutions,” dagdag pa nito.
