Pagpasa sa 2025 budget top priority ng Kamara — Speaker Romualdez

Isang linggo bago ang nakatakdang State of the Nation Address (SONA) ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. at ang pagpapatuloy ng sesyon, tiniyak ni Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez na ang Kamara ay nakatuon sa pagpasa ng 2025 national budget,at ang mga natitirang Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC) na mga priority bills at posibleng karagdagang mga pangunahing hakbang sa SONA.

“The House is ready to take swift and decisive action to ensure these legislative priorities are met, paving the way for sustained development and progress under the administration of President Bongbong Marcos,” ayon pa kay Romualdez.

Aniya, buong pananabik na hinihintay ng Kamara ang panukalang P6.352-trillion National Expenditure Program (NEP) ng executive branch, na siyang magiging batayan para sa 2025 General Appropriations Bill (GAB), at layuning maipasa ito bago matapos ang buwan ng Setyembre.

Sinabi ni Romualdez na ang mabilis at napapanahong pagpasa ng pambansang badyet sa susunod na taon ang pangunahing prayoridad.

“The 2025 national budget is essential for sustaining our nation’s growth and addressing the immediate needs of our citizens, and the House is ready to ensure its swift approval to support our development and progress,” aniya.

“We are ready and determined to work hard to pass the 2025 GAB before we go on break at the end of September. We will ensure the timely transmission of the spending bill to the Senate for their consideration as well,” dagdag pa ni Romualdez.

Ang 2025 national budget, na kumakatawan sa 10 porsiyento na pagtaas mula sa P5.768-trilyong alokasyon ngayong taon, ay katumbas ng 22 porsiyento ng gross domestic product ng bansa.

Inaasahang isusumite ng Department of Budget and Management (DBM) ang 2025 NEP sa Kongreso sa Hulyo 29, kasunod ng pagsusuri ng buong gabinete.

Sa ilalim ng 1987 Constitution, ang NEP ay kailangang isumite sa Kongreso sa loob ng 30-araw matapos ang SONA.

Kapag naaprubahan, ito ay magiging GAB, at pagkatapos ay ang General Appropriations Act kapag nilagdaan ng Pangulo bilang batas.

Bukod sa 2025 national budget, sinabi ni Romualdez na handa ang Kamara na ipasa ang lahat ng priority measures ng Pangulo sa mga natitirang session days ng 19th Congress.

“We are fully committed to passing all the bills that President Marcos will possibly outline in his SONA. The House is ready and determined to work diligently to ensure these critical measures are enacted swiftly to support our nation’s progress and development,” ayon pa dito.
