Nanawagan sa Commission on Elections (Comelec) ang walong political parties na siguruhin ang malinis, tapat at maayos na eleksyon na mangyayari sa darating na araw ng Lunes, Mayo 9.
Pinangunahan ng Lakas Christian-Muslim-Democrats (CMD) at Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) ang apela Comelec sa pamamagitan joint manifesto na sinuportahan din ng Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP), Nacionalista Party (NP), Partido ng Masang Pilipino (PMP), National Unity Party (NUP), PDP-Laban, at Reform Party.
“On May 9, our people will again troop to the polls to exercise their right to choose the nation’s leaders. The right to suffrage is inviolable, and the people’s will must be respected,” sa kalatas ng nasabing mga political parties.
“As leaders of our respective political parties, we now join hands and stand with the Filipino people in sounding the clarion call for an honest, transparent and orderly elections. Toward this end, we make the following appeal to the Commission on Elections,” dagdag pa ng mga ito.
Kabilang sa kanilang manifesto ang ilang suhestiyon kabilang ang pagtitiyak na ang lahat ng vote counting machines (VCMs) ay nasa maayos at operational na sa lahat ng polling precincts, at may naka-standby na VCMs sa sandaling magloko ang isa sa mga VCMs.
Apela rin ng mga ito na wala sanang mangyari pagkabalam sa pagpapadala ng boto mula sa voting precinct patungo sa canvassing and tabulations centers at dapat na may transparency.
“With days to go before May 9, we trust that all systems are in now in place to hold a fair and free elections. We trust in the integrity of our Comelec commissioners, and we believe in the honesty and competence of all men and women supervising the elections,” ayon pa sa walong political parties
“We join our people in praying that the results of the 2022 elections usher in a new era of peace and development for our country and for our people,” aniya pa.
Ang PFP ay political party ni presidential frontrunner at dating Senador Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. habang ang running mate naman nitong si Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, ay mula sa Lakas-CMD.
Base sa pinakahuling Pulse Asia’s newest tracking survey na isinagawa mula Abril 16 hanggang 21, nakakuha si Marcos Jr.ng voter preference na 56 porsiyento samantalang si Mayor Duterte ay mayroong 55 porsiyento.
Sinabi naman ni House Majority Leader at Leyte 1st District Rep. Martin G. Romualdez, na pangulo ng Lakas-CMD, sakaling makapagtala ang BBM-Sara tandem ng landslide victory, ang mga ito ang kauna-unahang presidential at vice presidential candidates sa bansa na nanalo sa pamamagitan ng majority sa halip na plurality vote.
