Educational field trip to empower students with disabilities

To empower the students with disabilities from Area I Vocational Rehabilitation Center (AVRC I), Dagupan, Pangasinan, through inclusive education they have conducted an educational field trip held at the National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA) office.

This educational field trip aims to better inform the participants of the existing programs and series of the Council addressed in empowering persons with disabilities.

The AVRC I provides vocational training for persons with disabilities for them to be active in participating and contributing in the society. They are being prepared for employment suitable to their abilities and talents.

Embarking on this educational field trip, the students with disabilities were able to access the facilities offered at the Disability Resource and Development Center (DRDC).

The DRDC is a model hub for capacity building services, resource augmentation, research and for organization of persons with disabilities to achieve their full participation. The building showcases the following facilities: multi-purpose hall, e-library, broadcasting room, accessible rooms and the Office of the Executive Director.

The students were also briefed on the Council’s mandate, accomplishments and ongoing programs, projects and policies that will strengthen and empower the persons with disabilities.
