Pinasalamatan ni House Speaker Martin G. Romualdez ang Estados Unidos (US) para sa pagtulong sa Pilipinas sa paglaban sa Coronavirus-19 (Covid-19) pandemic.
Ipinaabot ni Romualdez ang tauspusong pasasalamat ng bansa sa isang pulong kasama ang Assistant Secretary ng State Department para sa East Asian at Pacific Affairs na si Daniel Kritenbrink sa Washington DC noong Martes ng hapon (oras sa US).
“We are thankful that our alliance has remained robust, and I believe that an enhanced dialogue between the US and the Philippines would help cement the bond of friendship that we have forged throughout the years,” sabi ni Romualdez.
“As we both affirm the strengthening of Philippine-US partnership today, we would like to seize this occasion also to extend our gratitude for the continued cooperation to our country as well as your valuable assistance in our fight against the COVID-19 pandemic,” dagdag pa nito.
Tiniyak ni Romualdez kay Kritenbrink ang suporta ng Mababang Kapulungan ng Kongreso at nananatiling nakatuon sa pagsuporta sa mga hakbang na makatutulong sa pagpapalalim ng ugnayan sa Estados Unidos partikular na sa larangan ng supply chain, kalusugan at seguridad, pagbabago sa kapaligiran at klima, seguridad sa enerhiya, at interconnectivity.
“I am confident that our meeting today would further lead to stronger relations between our countries, and would help attaining peace and prosperity in the entire Asia-Pacific region,” ayon pa sa lider ng Kamara.
Sinabi ni Romualdez na nakipagpulong ito sa opisyal ng US upang palawakin at palakasin ang pakikipag-ugnayan sa pagitan ng dalawang bansa, at palakasin ang nagpapatuloy at hinaharap na mga bilateral initiatives, partikular sa larangan ng kooperasyong pang-ekonomiya.
