Labor inspection sinuspende ng DOLE ngayong Disyembre

Sinuspende ng Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) ang lahat ng labor inspection activities nito sa susunod na buwan upang mag-focus sa lahat ng nakahaing labor standards cases ngayon taon at paghahanda na rin sa inspection program sa 2023.

Sa inilabas na Administrative Order No. 342, series of 2022, sinabi ni Labor Secretary Bienvenido E. Laguesma na inatasan nito ang lahat ng DOLE regional directors ng ahensya na pansamantalang itigil ang  labor inspection activities sa kanilang mga nasasakupan simula Disyembre 1.

Kasama sa exempted sa suspensyon ang complaint inspections; Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) standards investigations; technical safety inspections, tulad ng inspection of boilers, pressure vessels, at mechanical and electrical wiring installation; at iba pang inspection activities na inatasan ng kalihim ng DOLE.

Sa panahon ng suspensyon, ipinarating ni Laguesma sa mga DOLE regional offices nito na magsagawa ng regional training activities tulad ng Level 1A: Basic Course para sa mga Labor Inspectors. 

“This is to ensure that the labor inspectorate is updated with the latest issuances and are highly skilled and equipped to perform their duties in enforcing labor laws and OSH standards,” ani Laguesma. 

Inatasan din ang mga DOLE regional directors na siguruhin na ang lahat ng resulta ng inspection activities ay dapat na i-upload sa Labor Inspection–Management Information System (MIS) bago ang pagtatapos ng Disyembre habang ang Regional MIS focal persons ay naatasang masagawa ng inventory ng lahat ng mobile gadgets and data plan subscriptions na ginamit sa pag-iinspeksyon.

At sa susunod na taon, inatasan ang lahat ng DOLE regional directors na magsumite ng listahan ng Labor inspectors na irerekomenda na maisama sa 2023 General Authority.

“Consistent with the minimum qualification standards, the labor inspector recommended for General Authority must be holding at least a permanent Labor and Employment Officer III plantilla position and must have attended and passed the 10-day basic training course for Labor Inspectors,” sabi ni Laguesma.

Sa datos ng DOLE, simula Oktubre 31, aabot sa 74,945 establisimiyento ang nainspeksyon ng mga DOLE labor inspectors.
