Isa pang kongresista ang sumanib sa Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) na ngayon ay nasa 71 ang bilang ng mga miyembro nito sa Mababang Kapulungan ng Kongreso.
Mismong si Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez, Lakas-CMD president, ang tumanggap at nanumpa kay Bukidnon Rep. Jonathan Keith Flores bilang ika-71 miyembro ng Kamara sa Speaker’s Office sa Quezon City.
“I thank Cong. Flores for joining the right political party whose commitment is to work towards a better future for our nation. We are honored to welcome you today as the 71st House member of Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats, a dedicated advocate for positive change,” sa pahayag ni Romualdez.
Sumaksi rin ang iba pang opisyal ng Kamara kabilang si dating Pangulo at ngayo’y senior Deputy Speaker Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, Lakas-CMD chairperson emeritus; Majority Leader Manuel Jose “Mannix” M. Dalipe, Lakas-CMD executive vice president; at Agusan del Norte Rep. Jose “Joboy” S. Aquino II, Lakas-CMD secretary general.
Sinabi ni Romualdez na masaya ito na nagpasya si Flores na sumali sa Lakas-CMD at maging kasama sa pagbibigay ng mas malakas na boses upang maipatupad ang mga positibong pagbabago.
Hinimok din nito ang mga miyembro ng Lakas-CMD na patuloy na tumulong sa pangangasiwa ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Romualdez Marcos Jr. para sa mas maunlad na hinaharap at epekto ng isang makabuluhang pagtugon sa iba’t ibang mga problema sa bansa.
“As promised, we continue to grow in support of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s Agenda for Prosperity and socio-economic development roadmap. Let us join together in our drive for meaningful progress in addressing our country’s critical issues,” ayon pa kay Romualdez.
Magugunitang noong nakalipas na Pebrero, pinanumpa rin ni Romualdez bilang bagong miyembro ng Lakas-CMD si South Cotabato 2nd District Rep. Peter B. Miguel at Laguna 2nd District Rep. Ruth Mariano-Hernandez bilang ika-69 at ika-70 miyembro ng partido.
