Buo ang suporta ng National Unity Party (NUP) sa supermajority coalition na binuo ni Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez na malaking tulong para maabot ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. ang kapayapaan at kaunlaran ng bansa.
“We are witness on how Speaker Romualdez has steered the House in legislating key reform measures included in the 8-Point Socio-Economic Agenda of the Marcos administration,” sa inilabas na kalatas ng NUP.
“We vow to continue working in close partnership with Speaker Romualdez, whose leadership and work ethic moved the legislative mill round the clock, producing an unprecedented number of priority bills passed on third and final reading in less than a year in office,” sabi pa ni Ronaldo Puno, chairman ng NUP.
Ipinarating din ng mga kongresistang kasapi ng NUP ang pagbati kay Pampanga Rep. Aurelio “Dong” Gonzales bilang bagong halal na Senior Deputy Speaker sa Kamara.
Samantala, nirerespeto ni Lakas-CMD secretary general Rep. Joboy Aquino ang naging desisyon ni Vice President Sara Duterte na umalis sa kanilang partido.
“We thank Vice President Sara Duterte for the services she rendered to our party, the Lakas-CMD, as Party Chair, and for helping us build a Unity Team aimed at bringing meaningful change to Philippine society. As we respect her decision, we understand her reason for leaving the political party,” sa kalatas ni Aquino.
Sinuportado din anila ang panawagan ni Duterte na magkaisa ang lahat ng pinunong pulitikal sa pagsuporta kay Pangulong Marcos at dapat na magtrabaho para sa tagumpay ng administrasyon para sa kapakanan ng mga mamamayan.
“We continue to believe in our shared vision that only a country united can lift the Filipino people out of poverty and ensure a better future for generations to come,” sabi nito.
Ayon naman sa grupo ng Party-list Coalition Foundation, Inc., suportado nito ang Gonzales, sa bagong posisyon nito sa19th Congress.
“As Coalition President, I’m privy as to how SDS Gonzales worked diligently to help Speaker Martin Romualdez steer the House into approving a record-number of priority bills even before the conclusion of the First Regular Session,” sabi ni Ako Bicol party-list Rep. Zaldy Co.
“I firmly believe that SDS Gonzales will remain a steady and reliable ally of Speaker Romualdez in delivering the commitments made by the House in pursuit of the 8-Point Socio-Economic Agenda of the Marcos administration,” dagdag pa nito.
Sinabi ni Co na ang Party-list Coalition ay nangakong mananatiling isang matibay na katuwang ng supermajority sa Mababang Kapulungan ng Kongreso sa pagtugon sa mga isyu at alalahanin ng mga nasasakupan ng mga ito.
“We laud Speaker Romualdez for his exemplary leadership, which was marked by a compassionate and fair treatment of partly-list organizations that were considered second-class solons in past Congresses,” sabi pa ni Co.
