“Today, we are being haunted by the specter of a looming food shortage. The spiralling prices of basic commodities indicates the imminence of this dire scenario. And time is not on our side. This a national challenge that falls flat on the lap of the Department of Agriculture. That is why I believe that the decision of the President to provisionally head the department, is not only wise, but imperative,” sa pahayag ni Magsino.
“But he alone and the rest of the Department’s bureaucracy cannot solve the problem. We must all, in little ways we can, do our part. After all, it is the nation’s fate and the next generations’ future that are at stake. Having said that, I support the approval of the department’s proposed budget for 2023,” sabi ni Magsino.
“President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.in his ‘Budget Message’, defined the 2023 proposed National Expenditure Program as an ‘Agenda for Prosperity’ through an economic transformation towards inclusivity and sustainability. Foremost, it is designed to strengthen our economy and to prepare our people to withstand future public health challenges and economic shocks, transforming our economy from being reactive to proactive. Hence, the top budget priorities of the current administration include health services, social safety nets to address the needs of the poor and the marginalized, and agriculture to finally achieve the lone-term goal of food sufficiency and security for our people,” paliwanag pa ng kongresista.
