Inihain sa Kamara ang panukalang batas na naglalayong dagdagan ang teaching supplies allowance ng mga pampublikong guro bilang regalo sa pagdiriwang ng National Teachers’ Month celebration simula Setyembre 5 hanggang Oktubre 5, 2022.
Sa House Bill 4072, o ang “Teaching Supplies Allowance Bill” na inihain ni Quezon City 5th district Rep. PM Vargas layon nito na bigyan ng taunang pondo na mula P5,000 ay gagawing P10,000 para magamit sa supplies expenses ng mga guro at mag-aaral.
Aniya, para sa school year 2021-2022, ang mga classroom teachers ay nabibigyan ng P5,000 cash allowance base sa joint circular na inilabas ng Department of Education (DepEd) at ng Department of Budget and Management (DBM) na nagtatalaga ng mga alituntunin sa pagpapatupad ng DepEd-Office of the Secretary Special Provision No. 11 on Cash Allowance.
Sa ilalim ng joint circular, ang cash allowance na gagamitin sa pagbili ng teaching supplies at materyales, tangible o intangible; para sa pagsasagawa ng iba’t ibang paraan ng pag-aaral, internet, at iba pang gastos sa komunikasyon at ng kanilang annual medical examination expense.
“We hope to alleviate the financial burden of our public school teachers to show our gratitude and recognition for their dedication and sacrifices in providing quality education to our students amid the pandemic,” sabi ni Vargas.
“When we provide Filipino educators with the proper support they need, we maximize the potential of our education sector and ensure the bright future of our nation,” dagdag nito.
