NI NOEL ABUEL
Pormal nang nanumpa bilang bagong kinatawan ng Bicol Saro party-list si dating House of Representatives Deputy Secretary General Brian Raymund S. Yamsuan.
Humarap si Yamsuan kay House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez sa plenaryo ng Kamara para manumpa bilang bagong miyembro ng 19th Congress.
Nabatid na pinalitan ni Yamsuan si dating Rep. Nicolas Enciso VIII, na sinasabing pinatalsik sa Bicol Saro noong nakalipas na Pebrero 6, at tinanggal na bilang kinatawan ng nasabing partido sa Kamara.
Ayon sa Commission on Elections (Comelec), na nag-convene bilang National Board of Canvassers (NBOC), opisyal na iprinoklama si Yamsuan noong Pebrero 17 bilang bagong no. 1 nominee ng Bicol Saro.
Si Yamsuan, ay manunungkulan sa Kamara sa loob ng tatlong taong termino o magtatapos sa Hunyo 30, 2025 na isinasaad sa Section 7, Article VI ng Konstitusyon.
Sa Comelec Minute Resolution 23-0112, kinilala ng poll body si Yamsuan bilang number one nominee ng Bicol Saro habang sina Lara Maria Villafuerte, Jocelyn Faustino Fortuno, Arron James Pagaduan at Mac Arthur Cuison Samson Jr. ay kabilang din sa mga nominado ng party list group.
“In case of vacancy in the seats reserved for party-list representatives, the vacancy shall be automatically filled by the next representative from the list of nominees in the order submitted to the COMELEC by the same party, organization, or coalition, who shall serve for the unexpired term. If the list is exhausted, the party, organization coalition concerned shall submit additional nominees,” ayon sa Comelec.
Binanggit din ng Comelec ang liham na ipinadala ni House Secretary General Reginald Velasco noong Pebrero 15, kung saan nakasaad ang pagpapatalsik kay Enciso at ang pagkabakante sa puwesto ng Kamara para sa Bicol Saro.
