Muling nagbabala ang Bureau of Immigration (BI) laban sa mga illegal recruiters at scammers na nambibiktima ng mga Filipino.
Ang abiso ng BI ay kasunod ng pagharang sa tatlong pekeng empleyado ng gobyerno at isang pasaherong patungo sa Russia na may mga pekeng dokumento, at ang pagpapauwi sa tatlong biktima ng scam mula sa Thailand.
Nabatid na nasabat ng mga BI personnel sa Clark International Airport (CIA) noong Marso 14 ang tatlong babaeng Pilipino na nagtangkang umalis ng bansa gamit ang mga pekeng government company identification card, leave forms, at travel authority.
Sinabi ni BI Commissioner Norman Tansingso na naharang ang mga pasahero habang naghihintay ng flight ng Scoot Airlines papuntang Singapore.
Ayon pa kay Tansingco, ipinakita ng mga pasahero ang mga dokumentong nagsasabing sila ay nagtatrabaho bilang administrative aide, agriculturist at bookkeeper sa isang munisipyo sa Luzon.
“The secondary inspector initially noticed that their travel documents appeared dubious. When asked about basic questions pertinent to their jobs as government employees, the passengers could not answer,” sabi nito.
Ibinahagi pa ni Tansingco na nang maglaon ay umamin ang mga pasahero na ang tunay na biyahe ng mga ito ay para maghanap ng trabaho sa Singapore at Dubai bilang mga turista.
“The passengers went to great lengths to evade immigration protocols. We understand the need to look for greener pastures abroad, but there is a legal and low-risk way to do it. We kindly remind the public that the set of requirements we impose is in place to ensure our safety even when we are overseas,” ayon pa kay Tansingco.
Ibinahagi ni Tansingco ang karanasan ng dalawang Pinay na pinauwi mula Thailand noong nakalipas na Martes matapos makaranas ng pisikal na pang-aabuso at sekswal na pag-atake sa ibang bansa.
Sinasabing ang mga biktima ay umalis ng bansa noong huling bahagi ng 2022 at dumating sa Thailand sa pag-asang makakuha ng trabaho bilang customer service representatives.
“One of them worked as a love scammer who sent nude photos of other women online. Eventually, they were transported to work in online casinos and online betting hubs where they received no proper food and compensation from their employers,” sabi ni Tansingco.
Nadiskubre na ang mga biktima ay nalaman ang trabaho sa Facebook post.
Samantala, pinigilan ng BI personnel sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 ang isang babae na unang beses pa lamang magtatrabaho sa ibang bansa partikular sa Russia ngunit nagpakita ito ng overseas employment documents bilang Balik Manggagawa noong Marso 27.
“Upon seeing irregularities in the documents, the secondary inspector found out that the victim’s overseas employment certificate has no record with Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) and that her contract was not verified by the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) in Russia or by the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW),” sabi ni Tansingco.
Ang biktima ay may kausap na isang nagnganglang Rose na nakilala nito sa Facebook kung saan magbayad ito ng P215,000.
