Pinuri ni House Speaker Martin G. Romualdez si Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos, Jr. sa pagdadala sa bansa sa tamang direksyon ng matatag na paglago ng ekonomiya at pagkakaroon ng matatas na pag-unlad patungo sa ganap na pagbangon ng ekonomiya mula sa coronavirus pandemic.
“The Philippines is right on track, and is sprinting steadily during the first 100 days of the administration of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. Our economy has bounced back from the ravages brought by the global pandemic and has already reached the first stage to full recovery,” sabi ni Romualdez sa ika-100 araw na panunungkulan ni Marcos.
“The future indeed looks brighter under the Marcos administration. Businesses now ramping up activity, new jobs are created and lost jobs re restored, and economic activities have turned dynamic once again,” dagdag nito.
Ayon pa kay Romualdez, ang tagumpay na ito ay ginawang imposible ni Pangulong Marcos dahil sa pagpili sa magagaling na economic team at sa masusing pagbuo ng Medium Term Fiscal Framework upang magsilbing roadmap ng bansa na makabalik sa high-growth trajectory.
Gayunpaman, kinilala rin nito na mabibigat na hamon na kinaharap ng bansa bilang post-pandemic shock at pandaigdigang tensyon na nagtutulak sa ekonomiya ng mundo sa bingit ng alanganin.
“We need business to keep going. We need to provide more jobs to those able to work, and we need to keep prices of basic commodities down to pre-pandemic level,” ani Romualdez.
“We can only hope to build a stronger nation resilient enough to withstand the shocks of external crisis if we remain united and work together for the common good,” dagdag nito.
At dahil sa mayorya sa Kongreso ay sumusuporta kay Pangulong Marcos maging ang minority groups, naniniwala si Romualdez na mapapanatili ng Pilipinas ang patuloy na paglago ng ekonomiya.
Maliban sa tagumpay sa domestic policy, sinabi ni Romualdez naging mahusay rin si Pangulong Marcos sa kanyang unang 100 araw sa tungkulin sa kanyang foreign policy na maging “Friend to all, enemy to none.”
Kabilang aniya dito ang bilateral meeting sa pagitan ni Pangulong Marcos at US President Joe Biden sa 77th session ng United Nation’s General Assembly, kung saan pinagtibay ng dalawang mataas na opisyal ang matatag na relasyon sa seguridad at tinalakay ang mga pagkakataon upang palawakin pang ang kooperasyon sa malawak na usapin kasama na ang energy security, climate action, at infrastructure.
Habang sa biyahe rin ng Pangulo sa Indonesia, nakausap nito si Indonesian President Joko Widodo na naging saksi sa nilagdaang kasunduan sa defense, security, creative economy, at culture. Pinagtibay rin ng mga ito ang bilateral cooperation bilang kapwa miyembro ng Association of Southeast Asian Nations.
Habang sa kanyang state visit sa Singapore, nakausap din ni Marcos si Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at lumagda ng kasunduan sa counterterrorism, personal data protection, digital cooperation, water resource management, at investment.
