Nakatakdang magbukas ng opisina ang Bureau of Immigration (BI) sa Robinson Place mall sa Lungsod ng Maynila para sa magbigay ng serbisyo sa mga dayuhan na nasa bansa para sa nakatakdang 2023 annual report (AR).
Ayon kay BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco, inilalapit sa mga dayuhan ang serbisyo ng AR sa pagbubukas ng opisina nito sa nasabing mall maliban pa sa punong tanggapa nito sa Intramuros, Manila gayundin sa iba pang BI offices sa buong bansa.
“The off-site venue will be open from 9 a.m. til 6 p.m. The space that we will be using in Robinson’s mall will also be larger, so it will very much benefit the transacting public,” sabi ni Tansingco.
Nabatid na lumagda ng memorandum of agreement ang BI sa Robinson’s management noong Oktubre 25.
“We thank the Robinsons management for the opportunity to partner in providing better service to the public who may now file their reports in a more comfortable venue. The improvement of services is really one of the major goals of this administration, and we are happy to be partnering with Robinsons Land Corporation in this endeavor,” paliwanag pa ni Tansingco..
Ipinaliwanag pa nito na sa ilalim ng Alien Registration Act of 1950, ang mga dayuhan na may hawak ng BI-issued immigrant at non-immigrant visas ay inoobligang magtungo at mag-report sa BI sa unang 60 araw kada calendar year.
“This means that those who are living, working, and studying here are required to present themselves for the annual report. Those who would fail to file their AR may be meted sanctions such as payment of fines and penalties and even deportation,” sabi ni Tansingco.
Panawagan pa ng opisyal sa mga dayuhan na personal na magtungo sa BI para maghain ng ARs mula Enero 1 hanggang Marso 1, 2023.
Tanging ang mga dayuhan na may edad 14-anyos pababa at ang mga 65-anyos pataas, mga buntis, at persons with disabilities at ang mga may kapansanan sa pag-iisip at physically incapacitated ang exempted na personal na magtungo sa BI at kailangan lamang na magpakita ng proof of exemption ng authorized representative.
Sinabi pa ni Tansingco na ang mga AR filers ay kailangang magpakita ng original alien certificate of registration identity card (ACR I-Card) at ng kanilang valid passport.
