Para kay Speaker Martin G. Romualdez ay maganda at napakahusay ang ginawa ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos, Jr. sa kanyang unang paglabas sa Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit sa Bangkok, Thailand.
Ayon kay Romualdez, nakakakuha ng paggalang at paghanga mula sa mga pinuno ng negosyo sa nasabing rehiyon kay Pangulong Marcos.
Binanggit ni Romualdez na sa panahon ng panel discussion, ang founder ng World Economic Forum na si Prof. Klaus Schwab, at Global Chairman ng PricewaterhouseCoopers International Limited Robert Moritz, ay nakitang tumatango bilang pagsang-ayon sa halos lahat ng oras sa mga pahayag at puntong tinukoy ni Pangulong Marcos.
“I think the President does very well in this fora, in these types of fora where there are exchanges, and in his insights into the conditionality in the Philippines whether it be economic or even political,” sabi ni Romualdez.
Maging si dating Pangulo at ngayo’y Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo (GMA), na bahagi ng delegasyon ni Pangulong Marcos ay halatang nasiyahan sa ginawa ng Chief Executive.
“You could see GMA there literally cheering him on and we would see how delighted she was with his performance and the crowd itself was applauding our President for his very, very clear cut answers, and very incisive,” ayon pa kay Romualdez.
Sinabi pa nito na umani ng palakpakan si Pangulong Marcos mula sa mga business leaders na dumalo sa okasyon, partikular na noong sinabi ng Chief Executive na ang pinakamahusay na paraan para mabawi ang tiwala ng mga tao ay ang kagalingan.
“I always say the best politics is performance because it’s something that cannot be taken away from you and it is something that actually makes a difference in people’s lives,” sa pahayag ng Pangulong Marcos sa question-and-answer portion sa APEC Summit.
“Perform and you will get back the trust of the people and that is what we all politicians [do] and I’m sure even people from the business side… that is what we strive for,” sabi ni Marcos.
Sinabi ni Romualdez na ang Pilipinas ay may isang Pangulo na lubos na nakatutok sa pagganap sa abot ng kanyang makakaya.
“So he comes to these summits, these conferences very very well prepared, well-versed on the topics, the issues, and the current events that surround us and that affect us,” ani Romualdez.
