Pinagtibay ng Mababang Kapulungan ng Kongreso ang resolusyon na pumupuri sa Olympic gold medalist na si Hidilyn Diaz sa muling pagbibigay ng karangalan sa bansa sa pamamagitan ng pagkapanalo ng tatlong gintong medalya sa 2022 World Weightlifting
Champion ship na ginanap sa Gran Carpa Americas Corferias sa Bogota, Colombia.

Nakasaad sa House Resolution (HR) No. 647 na ipinasa sa plenaryo na inihain ni Speaker Martin G. Romualdez, at sina Majority Leader Manuel Jose “Mannix” M. Dalipe, Minority Leader Marcelino C. Libanan, Senior Deputy Majority Leader Ferdinand Alexander A. Marcos at Tingog Party-list Reps. Yedda Marie K. Romualdez at Jude A. Acidre.

Si Diaz, ang kauna-unahang Filipino na nagwagi ng gintong medalya sa nakaraang Olympics, ay nagbigay muli ng parangal nang makakuha tatlong gintong medalya sa ng 55-kilogram women’s category, na nagtala rin ng bagong world record sa bansa noong Disyembre 7.

Dahil sa tagumpay ni Diaz ay nag-qualify ito sa 2024 Paris Olympics matapos makatunggali ang iba pang weightlifters mula sa mga bansang Colombia, Mexico, Taipei, Mongolia, Romania, Peru, Indonesia, Denmark at Uzbekistan.

“ … During the competition, Ms. Diaz cleared 93-kilogram snatch and 114-kilogram clean and jerk for a total lift of 207 kilograms,
outlifting her competitors, Rosalba Morales Del Aguila from Colombia, who had a total lift of 199 kilograms to claim the silver medal, and Ana Gabriela Lopez Ferrer from Mexico, who tallied at 198 kilograms to settle for bronze medal,” nakasaad sa resolusyon.

“The historic victory of sweeping three gold medals in the 2022 WorldbWeightlifting Championships is the latest addition to the Filipino athlete’s remarkable record as the first Filipina to win a World Championships crown,” dagdag nito.

Idinagdag nito na ang pinakabagong tagumpay ni Diaz, back-to-back sa Southeast Asian Games gold medal na nasungkit noong Mayo 20, 2022 sa Hanoi, Vietnam, at nagsisilbing momentum builder para sa Filipina Olympian habang inilunsad nito ang kanyang bid para sa isa pang gintong medalya sa 59-kilogram na women’s weightlifting event sa 2024 Olympics.

“Dubbed as the country’s epitome of a great champion, Ms. Hidilyn Diaz humbly continues her quest to bring pride and honor to the Filipinos, and unselfishly inspires every weightlifter and athlete to work hard
and gain confidence to focus on a common goal of victory,” ayon pa sa resolusyon.
