Nakatakdang sumailalim sa law enforcement course na ibibigay ng United States government ang ilang tauhan ng Bureau of Immigration (BI).
Ang mga ahente ng wardens facility (BIWF) at fugitive search unit (FSU) ng BI ay nakatakdang dumalo sa isang control tactics familiarization course na gagawin ng United States Marshals Service.
Ang programa ay sentro sa law enforcement self-protection at arrest procedures na isasagawa sa darating na Pebrero 21 at 22 na dadaluhan ng 14 na BI personnel.
Ipinahayag ni BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco ang kanyang pasasalamat sa gobyerno ng US para sa partnership, at umaasa na magkaroon ng mas maraming collaborations sa hinaharap.
“This capacity-building training is very timely, as it is in line with our priority area of improving the skills of our personnel, as well as upgrading security in our facility,” sabi ni Tansingco.
Matatandaang nagpatupad si Tansingco ng office-wide revamp sa BIWF nitong nakaraang buwan na nakaapekto sa 36 na empleyado.
“The reforms that we are implementing does not end in the mere changing of people,” said Tansingco. “We want a more holistic approach in our improvements, and this includes skills training and capacity-building, as well as infrastructural and technological upgrades,” ayon pa dito.
