Pagsasaayos ng kalsada sa malayong bahagi ng Negros Occidental natapos na ng DPWH

Natapos na ng Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) ang pagsasaayos ng
5.94-kilometrong sementong access road para mapadali ang paglalakbay sa bulubunduking kalsada ng Sipalay City, Negros Occidental.

Ipinaliwanag ni DPWH Regional Office 6 Director Nerie D. Bueno sa kanyang ulat kay Secretary Manuel Bonoan, na ang kongkretong kalsada ay mula sa Sitio Magtanday hanggang Sitio Omas sa Barangay Camindangan, isang malayong komunidad sa Sipalay City na hindi maabot dahil sa hindi magandang accessibility na dala ng ang maputik at maalikabok na kalsada.

Isinagawa ng DPWH Negros Occidental 3rd District Engineering Office, ang road improvement project na nahahati sa dalawang bahagi ay may pondong P126.6 milyon sa pamamagitan ng Sustainable Infrastructure Projects Alleviating Gaps (SIPAG) Program.

Ang parehong bahagi ng road project ay kinabibilangan ng pagtatayo ng 2.97-kilometro, 2-lane portland concrete cement pavement.

“With the paved road, residents of these remote areas now have a more convenient access to basic government services and can better bring to market centers their products such as coffee, rice, and vegetables, thereby opening more opportunities for economic development,” sabi ni Bueno.

Kasama rin sa proyektong pagpapabuti ng kalsada ang pagtatayo ng grouted riprap para sa slope protection at metal guard rail, hazard marker, reflectorized thermoplastic pavement markings at solar LED lights bilang mga safety features.
